New Players
Our hopes of returning to the First Division of the Bridging Finance Liverpool Competition have been boosted by the recruitment of Tony Rogan from Fleetwood Hesketh.
The youthful medium paced bowler has signed for the club and skipper Ian Cropper believes he will be a "big asset" in his team's promotion bid.
"Tony will be a key bowler for us because he'll give the opposition no rest," he said.
Also, it has been announced that our Overseas Professional for 2010 will be Nadeem Javed.
Skipper Ian Cropper thinks that the signing of Pakistani pace bowler Nadeem Javed will help the side return to the second tier of the Liverpool Competition at the first attempt.
"We wanted to get our overseas player sorted out early in the close season because we're losing one or two players and other clubs were after Nadeem," he said.
The 6ft 6ins Sialkot fast bowler has experienced Premier League cricket in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire over the past two seasons and was recommended to the club by our ever so crazy middle-order batsman Waqar 'bouncer' Khan.
The deal was then negotiated by former first team skipper Dave Newcombe who echoes Cropper's view that the new signing could have a great impact on the Second Division next year.
"It's vital that we bounce back at the first attempt and we needed to strengthen the seam bowling in order to do that," he said.
"News about a quality fast bowler goes round the league very quickly and it can be a huge advantage to have somebody like that in your side."
Fond Farewell
Richard Stanyon has announced he will not be playing for Ainsdale in 2010. The consequence of relegation to the newly formed Competition second division and Richard's continued improvement with Lancashire has resulted in him moving on and playing a higher level of cricket. The club fully understand the reasons and wish Richard every success for the coming season.
Another player on the move is Lee Rimmer who is flying off to Australia. Lee is having a few goodbye Coca-Cola's and chocolate Freddo's in the club on 17th January. We wish Lee a safe flight and a eye opening time on his travels.
